It’s been a long time since I felt like I was doing much out in the world. Yes, I work in public schools, and I’m in grad school, and I’ve helped on the farm, but most of my busy-ness has come from those three places in the last year or so. The Bearded One and I haven’t taken any big trips since the pandemic started, and I was starting to feel a little stuck in one place.
But the last month or two have started to feel a little more like normal. There were the two (2!) performances of Hamilton I got to see in Des Moines about a month and a half ago. And The Bearded One had some time off the last couple of weeks, and I did too (because summer), and we actually went on a few little day trips. Nothing too far away–Amana/Cedar Rapids/Urbana one day, Charles City another day, and North Liberty (for their fabulous Blues & BBQ festival) another. I know that COVID is still a threat, but none of the activities we did the last couple of weeks had us inside with lots of people for extended periods of time, and it just feels so good to be DOING things again. *hopeful sigh*
